Lydiafield - Annan

Lydiafield is a care home registered for 51 residents. Our rooms are available for both permanent (long stay) and respite (short stay) placements. The home provides high standards in the lifestyle and personal care of older adults or those under the age of 65 who may benefit from the care and services we are able to offer.

Each resident has a named carer who is responsible for attending to individual care needs, assisting the resident to retain their preferred lifestyle and recognising their right to make independent decisions with an emphasis on quality of life. Residents are encouraged, for as long as they are able, to continue leisure pursuits and hobbies in addition to any organised entertainment and visits. The care needs of residents are co-ordinated by the Manager and supported by a fully competent and trained home staff and community based health care staff.

Services available include:

  • All dietary requirements including religious, cultural, diabetic and vegetarian. Meals, snacks and drinks in resident’s rooms if required or preferred
  • Visiting doctor, dentist, district nurse, social worker, community psychiatric nurse, physiotherapist, chiropodist and occupational therapist
  • In-house laundry
  • Residents telephone
  • Specialist baths and hoists
  • Activity therapy sessions.

Other services are available but purchased by residents including: newspapers, sweet trolley, toiletries, hairdressing, complementary therapies, private telephone and satellite/digital television.

The Scottish Government set up the Care Inspectorate to provide assurance and protection for people who use care, social work and child protection. We operate out of offices across Scotland.

We are accountable to ministers of The Scottish Government.

The accommodation at Lydiafield is provided in four living areas (Burnside, Cedarwood, Criffel and Screel) each with its own sitting/dining room and kitchen. There are enclosed garden/patio areas with raised planting beds.

All bedrooms have en-suite toilet facilities and are fully furnished but residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture and personal items to help them relax and feel even more at home.

Residents are able to move around freely and easily within each unit at Lydiafield and its grounds. There are ample walking areas and easy access to a safe secure garden. The home is run in a way that protects residents from any avoidable risk or harm. The home is kept in good decorative order and furnishings are well maintained. Residents can bring in personal belongings, including items of furniture. All bedrooms and public rooms have windows. Residents can expect to sit somewhere and always have a view out of a window. The door to the resident’s room will have a lock and staff will be able to gain access if there is an emergency

How to find Lydiafield

Lydiafield Care Home is situated within a residential area in the town of Annan and is easy accessible from the A75 and the A74 motorway. Two main roads cross the region, the A75 Gretna to Stranraer and the A74(M) Gretna to Glasgow.
